Japan and DuPont announced yesterday that they will set up a joint venture to produce the material polyester film used to produce audio-visual tapes. Teijin, a major textile manufacturer, and DuPont, a chemical giant, said their joint operations would form the world\'s largest manufacturer of polyester films for about $1. Annual sales are expected to be 4 billion. Shosaku Yasui, president of Teijin, said at a news conference in Tokyo that Teijin and DuPont will each contribute about 50% to the joint venture.
