WATERLOO —
A group of engineering students from Waterloo, tired of the dull winter ceremony of ice-drilling from their windows, came up with a way to make sure they never had to scratch their windshield again.
The university project, which started two years ago to tackle pet troubles, has evolved into frost-free, and a startup has developed a transparent film for windows to prevent frost, and transfer harsh elements such as snow and freezing rain.
The concept has caught the attention of the trucking industry, and its founders are very confident about the future of Neverland, and one of them has rejected Facebook\'s work, another dream that the graduate school is chasing is to make the ice scraper obsolete.
\"Cars have been around for a century, but the problem has not been solved yet,\" said Khanjan Desai, one of the creators of Neverland.
\"It\'s a very practical thing and we feel like we don\'t have a solution every winter morning.
\"Dream cream is not the first company to want to defrost.
Antifreeze developer Prestone sells chemical spray to form a \"elastic barrier\" between glass and the outside world\"
But critics say it also has a greasy film on the windshield.
Drivers are even struggling with their family remedies.
Online resources suggest creative ways, from spraying a mixture of vinegar and water on the windshield to rubbing raw onions on Windows.
Neverfrost wants to protect all alternatives with patented transparent film permanently applied to the exterior of the vehicle\'s windows.
The film combines nanotechnology or manipulates objects at the molecular level to prevent the windshield surface from reaching the conditions required for condensation and freezing at a sufficiently low temperature.
Neverfrost also claims to be resistant to the impact of the stone and isolate the car from the outside world, which its founder said could ease the heat of the summer sun.
\"There is nothing better in the world today than this, because these are all new materials that we are making,\" Desai said . \".
\"These things didn\'t exist before.
\"The concept was imagined by four students at the University of Waterloo who, after immigrating from a warm climate, were stunned by Canada\'s harsh winter.
Desai, 24, who moved from India to Canada, said: \"All of a sudden, you\'re stuck in the fridge . \".

Year design project and come up with a spray that prevents frost when you apply it to your windshield.
Almost immediately, the idea struck a chord with peers, winning people\'s choice and the Most Innovative Product award in the Waterloo technology competition. 2013.
Within a few months, creators are pushing ahead with the test to help them realize that the spray that needs to be sprayed on Windows is too labor-intensive for drivers in the cold winter.
So they went back to the drawing board and made a more practical Dream Island.
